Playing Catch Up - Part 1

Ok so it has been forever since I've had time to get on here. So here's whats been happening in our lives the past few months. Heres Madison at 17 months showing off her cheesy smile. We would say to her, give us some cheese and she would give us the biggest toothy grin. Aren't the pony tails cute! She finally has enough hair to get two little ones.


Here she is playing Just Dance on the Wii. She thought it was so fun to shake the remote and dance just like Sydney.

Madison loves to pretend to feed her baby. She has us put the baby in her high chair and get a spoon to feed her with. Adorable. She also likes to share her food with everything, even if it is just a picture of a person in a book.

She loves copying everything we do. Including looking at the grocery store adds,jabbering and pointing at pictures, then colors on it and rips them up.

Falling asleep while eating. Hilarious. She would fall asleep, wake up just enough to giggle and smile at me and fall back asleep.I have a great video I will have to put up on here. It will definately make you smile.

Something I Want to Remember...

 My parents have a squirt bottle to spray the dogs when they bark. Madison found it on the floor and figured out how it worked. Of course she had it pointed straight at her face. She did it over and over until she was soaked.

As you can see from this picture she really enjoyed doing this.

Now for something that isn't quite as cute....

She got under the kitchen sink cabinet and found a spray bottle with chemicals in it and remembering how much fun it was earlier, she sprayed it in her face. Luckily it didn't hurt her.

Tollgate, Idaho

This summer we took Madison camping for the first time. My Grandpa John has property out by Mountain Home that my mom's family goes camping at every summer. He has a apple orchard, a garden, and tons of flowers.

Madison had a great time doing what kids do best, get dirty.

Here's what we did.

 Tried on Grandpa Speirs's sunglasses.

Layed in the hammock

 Threw thousands of rocks into the creek

Jumped on the air matresses in the tent.

Madison loved the tent I think it reminded her of a big fort like we make at home. She couldn't stop giggling as she jumped on the beds and rolled around.

 Played in the creek until she was frozen. The water was coming down from the mountains so it was ice cold, but Madison still wanted to play.

We rode four wheelers up and down the road.

This is probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Nathan sharing his drink with Madison.

Even though you get covered in dirt, eaten by bugs, get smelly, and sunburned I love camping. There is something so great about just getting outdoors, turning your cell phone off and forgetting about all your worries and taking time to slow down and just enjoy the beauty that is all around us.

Sprinkler Fun

We had gone out to eat at Craigo's since it had been such a hot day and we couldn't bare to cook anything. We came home and Alex and I were talking, we turn around and there is Madison testing out the sprinkler and the next thing we knew she was soaked from head to toe. She would run between the sprinkler and the steps, sitting down just for a second before she was back in the sprinkler.

 

Helment Hair

 This was a common morning look for Madison this summer. We got bikes last summer and this summer I found this bike helment and decided she should probably have one for when we go riding bikes. At first she wouldn't have anything to do with it, and panicked when we put it on her, refusing to wear it for any period of time. Overtime she got more excited about it and we couldn't keep it off of her head. First thing she would do in the morning is go find her helment and put it on her head until we made her take it off.

Flower Arranging

This last semester I took a flower arranging class on campus. It was great to learn about flowers and how to use them more effectivly. Here are some of my creations.

Kisses

So this is probably the cutest thing Madison has learned. She kisses everything! She puckers up those cute little lips and makes kissy noises. She kisses her toys, animals, books, and mom and dad.

This is one of her favorite toys to kiss. She turns it around and around to give each animal a kiss. Adorable. There is nothing better than little, slobbery baby kisses :)

Working Hard

So this is our trailer, our home sweet home for the past year.

And this is a preview of our newly painted house!

We decided that this summer we would get it painted up all nice so we can sell it next summer. We've been working on painting the trailer the past few weeks and it is coming along nicely. We have gotten a base coat on the whole thing and now it just needs some touch ups. We are also going to replace the trim around the windows and doors and paint it as well as the trim at the top of the house. It is amazing how much better a coat of paint can make things look better! 

We are so excited to get it done! Now if only the weather would cooperate so we can get this done.

Madison was a pretty good helper too! She loved sitting on the driveway eating popsicles and watching us work. She definitely loves the sunshine!

She was sticky and blue in the end, but super cute!

All Grown Up

 So our little Madison is turning into quite the girly-girl. She loves looking at her dresses, and she always wants me to put a bow in her hair. She is growing up to be quite the cutie!



The Best Seat in the House

Madison usually pulls out the broom and dust pan and plays with them, but I had a good laugh when I saw her sitting in the dust pan.

Smartie Pants

So I bought some Smarties to have in the car to keep Madison happy when she was restless and we were taking too long at the store. I left the bag on the floor and walked away for a few minutes, and this is what I came back to find....

 She had ripped the bag open and grabbed a handful of smarties. She was so proud of herself for getting into her candy.



Happy Easter

Easter this year was pretty uneventful for us. There was not hiding eggs and I didn't even make a nice dinner, but it was still nice to go to church and spend time together as a family.

Happy 1st Birthday!

For Madison's 1st birthday we were in Meridian because Alex was on a trip with the school visiting companies in town for internships. It was really fun to be able to share her first birthday with our families. Sydney made and decorated Madison's cake, and did a great job!

I can't believe she's already a year old, time is flying by so fast! What a great, crazy year it has been.

She has found the toliet paper. Luckily she didn't get much unrolled before she was caught.

Daddy's Little Helper

Alex was childproofing the cabinets since Madison has figured out that they open and there are things hiding inside that she shouldn't play with. She still wanders around to each door and tries to pull it open, hoping maybe the door will open.  

This picture just melts my heart. It is so amazing to see her learning and following our examples. She looks up to us and is always trying to be like us.
